Brand new FIRST grade balalaika prima with an "old kind" of finish.

Up for sale brand new, great-sounding, 1st grade Russian Folk balalaika made by Gusev workshop. 

This balalaika has great woods used in its construction - beautiful flamed maple back, rosewood neck, and rosewood 'pantzir'.

The instrument sounds great, stays in tune, and 100% ready to play. A great instrument for learning how to play the balalaika, performing both solo and with ensembles. 

Please note that this balalaika is finished in the «old way», just like the balalaikas were lacquered in the mid of the last century. The balalaika's face is covered with satin shellac (mid-gloss sheen, natural lacquer), and the back of the neck and the body is finished with «politura» — it's an alcohol solution of resinous substances, just the way the wooden surfaces were finished in the old times. 

The finish has a satin (non-glossy) feel and look and it is very nice to touch it! No chemicals were used when finishing this instrument!
