Fantastic sounding Concert Grade 4 string Russian DOMRA TENOR folk instrument N2

Up for sale a fantastic sounding, brand new, concert grade 4 string Domra Tenor (#2 of 2) made by one of the best Russian Domra luthiers - A.Simakhov. 

 

Alexey is a true genius and his tenor domras are far best sounding “tenors” out there. His used tenors are being sold in Russia and Ukraine for between 2-2.2K$ and a queue to get a new one is around 9-10 months.  

 

The craftsmanship of this domra is flawless… The instrument is so accurately made as if it was built by CNC machines but it’s completely handmade. Simakhov still has his workshop in the middle of the “Shikhovo” village in Moscow suburbs from where came all the famous luthiers during the late USSR era. 

 

The body is made from aged highly flamed maple, the top is aged spruce and the neck is rosewood with an ebony fretboard.   The neck construction is 3-piece “sandwich” type made for extra stability. 

The woods that were used to build this instrument are naturally dried for 40+ years, you won’t be able to find a woods like this anywhere else expect than to get it from an original “Shikhovo” luthiers.

 

The sound of this instrument is just fantastic, the timbre is super warm - it has great lows, open highs and it’s very loud. I’d call this instrument a pure tone machine, it is simply amazing !! 

 

I strongly believe that there is no chance of purchasing a better sounding Domra tenor than Simakhov instrument no matter how much money you going to spend. 

The instrument is strung with high-quality, thick and very tone full strings made at the Tchaikovsky factory but I'm sending the instrument with a spare set of softer Domra tenor strings. 

 

This instrument comes with caprolone or leather pick of your choice and a semi-hard case.
